Adding Customized Fields to Standard Tables

You will see this screen by clicking  at the screen of a standard table (go to Add-on/Extender Tool/Database editor, select the relevant standard table, and then click Open). At this screen, you can add new fields to the following standard tables:

  • Financial entries
  • Financial entry lines
  • Accounts (Debtors/Creditors)
  • Invoices
  • Invoice lines
  • Items
  • Orders
  • Order lines
  • Projects
  • Human resources
  • Contact persons
  • General ledger
  • Quotations
  • BOMs 

Description

Field name

Type a name for the new field. The name should be unique, with any letter as the first character, followed by alphanumeric characters including the underscore (_). This is mandatory and you are not allowed to modify it once you have clicked Save.  

Description

Type a description for the new field. This description can be edited.     

Field type

Select one of the following options to define the field type. You are not allowed to edit your selection once you have clicked Save. There are five options available:

  • Text field — Select this option to enter a maximum of 8,000 characters in the field. The length allowed is dependent on the value defined at Length.
  • Long — Select this option to enter numerical values without decimals in the field.
  • Double — Select this option to enter numerical values with decimals in the field. The number of decimals that can be used is dependent on the value defined at Scale.
  • Date — Select this option to enter a date in the field.
  • Yes/No field — Select this option to display a check box next to the defined field.

Length

Type the number of characters that can be used in this field. The maximum length allowed is 8,000 characters. You are not allowed to modify this once you have clicked Save.

Note: This is enabled only when you have selected Text field, Long, or Double at Field type.

Scale

Type the number of decimals that can be used in this field. You are not allowed to modify this once you have clicked Save.

Note: This is enabled only when you have selected Double at Field type.

Reference table

Select a reference table to display the pre-defined values from this reference table as options for the defined field. You are not allowed to modify this once you have clicked Save. Leave this field blank if you want to enter the values manually. Your own customized table(s), created previously, will also be listed for selection. You can select any one of the following:

  • VAT codes (btwtrs)
  • Accounts (ciccmpy)
  • Contact persons (cicntp)
  • Sectors (cisect)
  • Sizes (cisize)
  • Journals (dagbk)
  • General ledger accounts (grtbk)
  • Human resources (humres)
  • Items (Items)
  • Cost units (kstdr)
  • Cost centers (kstpl)
  • Warehouse (magaz)
  • Titles (pred)
  • Currencies (valuta)
  • Customized tables

Note: When you select a reference table, the values at Field type, Length, and Scale are automatically adjusted to the values belonging to the reference table.

Transaction type

Select the type of transaction to add extra fields into the database for the selected transaction type. You can select one or more of the following check box(es):

  • Purchase order - Select this check box to add an extra field into the database for purchase orders.
  • Sales order - Select this check box to add an extra field into the database for sales orders.
  • Quotation - Select this check box to add an extra field into the database for sales quotations.

At least one check box must be selected. Otherwise, a message "Mandatory : Transaction type. Select at least 1 option" will be displayed.

Note: These check boxes are available only if you have selected the SDKkrg or SDKsrg table in the Extender Tool - Field screen (at Add-on/Extender Tool/Database editor).

BOMs

Select the Header check box if you want to add an extra field into the header and/or Lines check box to add an extra field into the lines for the bill of materials (BOM). At least one check box must be selected. Otherwise, a message "Mandatory : BOMs. Select at least 1 option" will be displayed.

Note: The BOM related check boxes are available only if you have selected the SDKemrc table in the Extender Tool - Field screen (at Add-on/Extender Tool/Database editor).

Click this to save the changes.

Close

Click this to exit.
